No Black Friday score for bandits

ROCKY POINT – Three men who went searching for Black Friday bargains in the unoccupied homes of Rocky Point were arrested Friday morning after a neighbor spotted them on the prowl. But four Thanksgiving robbers who made a cash takeout from a Uniondale McDonald’s remain at large.

Suffolk County police said the burglars targeted five homes early Friday. Det. Sgt. James McGuiness said the suspects took jewelry, coins and even copper pipes to be pawned for cash. Damien Beeker, 26, of Ronkonkoma, Joseph Manginello, 25, and Michael Diebel, 18, both of Rocky Point, face multiple burglary and attempted burglary charges.

At 6:38 a.m. Thursday, four black men wielding a handgun and shotgun entered a Uniondale McDonald’s, threatened employees, and took $2,000 from a safe. Anyone with information should call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
