Off-price retail store Nordstrom Rack is coming to Center City.
The company announced today it plans to open a Nordstrom Rack location at 17th and Chestnut streets across from the Shops at Liberty Place in Philadelphia. It's scheduled to open next fall.

There are no other locations of the 30- to 70-percent off division of Nordstrom, Inc. in the city proper. Nearby locations include King of Prussia, Willow Grove and Cherry Hill, N.J.
Most recently, Daffy's occupied the spot Nordstrom Rack will move into. It was originally home to Bonwit Teller, a department store. It will take up the first three floors of the eight-story building.
Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said he is "thrilled" to open a store in "this fantastic location on Chestnut Street."
"We intend to bring our very best — exciting fashion from brands our customers love at great prices — to make the most of this opportunity to serve customers at the heart of Center City," he said in a release.
