On the Lord's Day in Port Richmond around 11 a.m., a man slide into a running, silver 2009 Chevrolet Malibu in the Shop Rite parking lot on Aramingo Avenue and locked eyes with a nun in full habit.

He said: "Tell me where you wanna go."

The nun replied: "No, thank you."

Public Information Officer Tanya Little said Tuesday that the 65-year-old nun, who was seated on the passenger-side, reached for the ignition to snag the keys when the man grabbed her hand, twisted it, and then repeatedly punched her in the face.

As the nun yelled for help her attacker said: "I'll kill you, I'll kill you!"

"He told her to get out and he shoved her out of the vehicle and he drove off with the vehicle," Little said.

The nun received cuts and scratches on her face and a broken right finger. She was treated and released from the Episcopal Campus of Temple University Hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip via telephone at 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
