Nutter wins reelection, so does O’Neill in contested 10th

The only Republican City Councilman still holding onto a District spot, Brian O’Neill, appears to have won his eighth term over challenger Bill Rubin, winning 57.5 percent of the votes with 58.4 of the precincts reporting.

While Dennis O’Brien will be the second Republican to join him on Council with 6.9 percent of votes and 57.9 percent of precincts reporting, the remaining Republican at large seat is up for grabs, with the race still tight between David Oh (5.6 percent) and Al Taubenberger (5.9 percent).

Meanwhile, Mayor Nutter won reelection, as expected, with 72.4 percent of votes when 57.9 percent of precincts were counted. Republican candidate Karen Brown is in distant second place, with 24.5 percent.
