Sen. Chuck Schumer anticipates the bipartisan Gang of Eight immigration bill will pass by July 4, the Associated Press reported.

Schumer reportedly said he believes as many as 70 of the 100 senators will vote for the measure when it goes for a full senate vote on June 10.

But even if the Senate passes the bill, its chances of passage in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives are low. The AP reports that House legislators are working on their own version of the bill that would stall the pathway to citizenship for immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
