Mayor Bill de Blasio will appear in an upcoming episode of the CBS drama “The Good Wife,” the network said on Monday.
De Blasio is listed as a guest star appearing as himself in the March 16 episode.
The mayor kept mum about his cameo’s details, but said he and his wife Chirlane McCray are big fans.
“I watch the show constantly,” de Blasio said at an unrelated press conference Tuesday. “It’s a fantastic show and I look forward to you seeing my attempt at acting.”
“The Good Wife” follows Alicia Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies, a wife and mother who pursues a high-powered law career after her husband is sent to jail following a sex and political corruption scandal.
In the episode, entitled “A Few Words,” Alicia is asked to be the keynote speaker at the American Bar Association conference in New York City.
De Blasio is not the first mayor to appear on the show. Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg made a cameo in season four’s final episode last April.
