A police officer shot and wounded a deranged man wielding two machetes in Brooklyn Saturday night.

Rene Loney, 49, was arrested and charged with menacing a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon after lunging at two cops outside his East Flatbush home just after 8 p.m.

After responding to a 911 call, two uniformed officers observed Loney leaving his E. 46th Street building with two machetes, one in each hand.

When Loney lurched at the officers, one fired his service weapon twice, striking him in the right forearm and left hip.

Emergency personnel took Loney to Kings County Hospital where he was in stable condition.

One of the officers was treated for ringing in his ears, police said.
