Obama lunches at midtown firehouse

Before he'll head to Ground Zero, President Obama stopped at a midtown fire station for lunch.

There are already 3,000 people gathered outside Ground Zero, awaiting the President's motorcade, NYPD officers on the scene tell Metro.

But before Obama will head downtown, he stopped at the Fire Department's Engine 54 and Ladder 4 and Battalion 9, at 48th Street and Eighth Avenue, for a home cooked lunch made by the firefighters. That firehouse lost 15 men on 9/11.

The President was greeted with hugs and handshakes from some of New York's bravest.
