Obama signs 9/11 health bill

President Barack Obama yesterday signed into law the James Zadroga Health & Compensation Act, which provides billions of dollars in aid to responders and site workers who have since become sickened in the wake of the World Trade Center attacks.

Unlike many major pieces of legislation that pass the president’s desk, Obama signed this one from his vacation rental.

“It came out with a member of the staff so that it could be signed in a timely fashion,” White House spokesman Bill Burton told CNN.
