A 14th District police officer suffered minor injury early this morning when a suspect sped off during a traffic stop, officials said.
The officer made the stop around 1:40 a.m. on East Washington Lane in the Mount Airy section of the city. As the officer approached the car on foot, the driver allegedly sped off, knocking the officer to the ground and dragging for a short distance.
The officer was treated for injuries to the leg and shoulder and released from Albert Einstein Medical Center. Police are still looking for the driver of the 2003 silver Cadillac which fled down Cliveden Street.
