One dead in Southwest Philadelphia shooting that injures five others

One person was killed in a shooting that left five others injured, including one critically, in Southwest Philadelphia on Sunday night.

The fatal shooting occurred about 7 p.m. at 54th Street and Florence Avenue, 6ABC Action News reports.

A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been shot multiple times in his chest and back.

Five others were rushed to area hospitals, with one of them, a 23-year-old man, considered to be in critical condition.

Up to 50 shell casings were found at the scene, according to the report, which notes Philadelphia police believe the shots were fired from multiple weapons, possibly in a drive-by shooting.
