One woman is in critical condition and a second woman is in custody after a stabbing Friday night in Kensington.

Investigators said the victim, 29, was shortly after 11:30 p.m. involved in a fist fight on the 800 block of East Allegheny Avenue.

During the altercation, she was stabbed eight times – four times in the chest and abdomen, twice in the face and once each in the back and arm, according to authorities.

Medics took the victim to Temple University Hospital, where she was placed in critical condition.

Officers soon stopped the alleged offender, a 22-year-old woman, on the 3100 block of Kensington Avenue, where she was arrested without incident.

Neither the victim's identity nor the suspect's identity was released Sunday.
