BOSTON. Gov. Deval Patrick returned from a four-day trip to the Middle East yesterday to a pile of bills.
As of Friday, 27 bills awaited Patrick’s review, while legislation potentially awarding the state’s presidential electors to the winner of the national popular vote could be added soon. A compromise gambling bill could also get Patrick’s approval before the legislative session ends.
The Department of Defense-sponsored trip wasn’t announced until after Patrick landed in Iraq Wednesday. He also visited Kuwait, Afghanistan and injured troops in Germany.
