All Philadelphia School District schools will dismiss students at 12:30 p.m. today due to the impending winter storm.

In addition, all early childhood programs in the city will have early dismissals.

Philadelphia is expected to get 3 to 7 inches of snow during the daytime hours today, according to the National Weather Service, and another 3 to 7 inches of snow could fall overnight. A winter storm warning is in effect from 10 a.m. today through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Strong winds, with gusts as high 36 mph, will impact visibility tonight.

"Areas of blowing and drifting snow will greatly reduce the visibility, especially in open areas, later Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night. This will result in snow blowing back onto previously plowed roadways. Use extra caution while driving," NWS stated in its warning.
