Philly’s most wanted now on Youtube (also MAP of every fugitive’s address)

The Philadelphia Police Department announced yesterday that, in accordance with Mayor Michael Nutter’s crime fighting plan announced in January, the government access channel will air the photos and information of the 100 most wanted fugitives in the city.

The Department also released a Youtube slideshow of the violent felons who have outstanding warrants.

“These slides are an important tool in our attempt to bring violent criminals to justice. We need the support and involvement of the community to apprehend these individuals and make our streets safer,” Nutter said in a statement yesterday. “Being a good citizen means not looking the other way and allowing these criminals to walk our streets.”

The effort is part of the third goal of Nutter’s nine-point crime plan, “Increase the lines of communication between citizens and the Philadelphia Police Department.” Other planned initiatives that fall under the third point include a program that will allow citizens to text message tips.
