PHOTOS: Fires in Back Bay create havoc for T, neighborhood

Fire officials are warning people to stay inside and away from the area.

A three-alarm fire near the Back Bay Hilton, and an earlier fire near Massachusetts Avenue, are creating a mess for people in and traveling near the neighborhood.

Fire crews responded to a garage on Scotia Street about 6:30 p.m. where a 115,000-volt transformer is on fire, according to the fire department.

The fire caused the evacuation of the adjacent Back Bay Hilton hotel.

An intense smoke has filled the neighborhood where there are also reports of power outages.

Green Line service will not be stopping at the Prudential, Symphony, Hynes Copley or Arlington stations because of the fire, according to the T. The Orange Line will also not stop at Massachusetts Avenue.

Fire crews were already nearby as a fire at TC's Lounge on Haviland Street broke out about 4:30 p.m. and caused $250,000 according to fire officials.

The fire has impacted many people who have taken to Twitter to talk about it.
