Photos: Lawyer enters pictures of Bulger as possible exhibits

It’s still not clear if James “Whitey” Bulger will testify in his own defense, but potential exhibits made public Wednesday night indicate that he may take the stand.

The lawyer for the 83-year-old alleged mob boss submitted 20 pictures into the case file Wednesday evening.

Attorney J. W. Carney Jr. also submitted a brief memorandum with the photographs.

“The defendant, James J. Bulger, may offer the following exhibits during the defendant’s case,” Carney wrote in the one-sentence memo.

Most of the photos show Bulger relaxing either with his then-girlfriend Teresa Stanley, with animals or even shirtless on vacation.

Bulger’s defense team started presenting his case Monday, calling former FBI agents to testify. They have about nine witnesses left to call as of Wednesday afternoon.

Prosecutors submitted hundreds of exhibits and called more than 6o people to testify during the more than six weeks that the government presented its case against Bulger.
