Completing a $1 billion, three-year transformation, the Madison Square Garden unveiled a new arena Thursday.
Celebrities, garden officials and Governor Andrew Cuomo attended the arena's ribbon cutting.
A new Seventh Avenue entrance, multimedia display, levels and suites were presented as part of the final phase of the project. The arena's ceiling was also restored.
The makeover began in 2011 and included three offseason shutdowns.
Seats and sightlines were upgraded during the first two phases of the transformation. Concourses and food selections in the arena were also previously expanded.
