Yesterday, the Friends of the High Line unveiled new renderings for Phase 3 of the famous, elevated park.
The new section will be built on the section of former railroad tracks that curve West around the Hudson Yards project, from West 30th to West 34th Streets, stretching from 10th to 12th Avenues.
"The High Line at the Rail Yards" will feature more of the High Line’s iconic “peel-up” bench seating, a new rail track walk, a performance space and even a self-seeded landscape.
The pricetag for Phase 3 is $90 million dollars, with roughly a third funded by Related Properties, the developer of the Hudson Yards.
Friends of the High Line and the city are aiming to complete construction by the end of 2013, with a public opening in spring 2014.
