PHOTOS: New Yorkers come out for annual Village Halloween parade

When it comes to Halloween, New York City takes it to the next level.

Thousands of New Yorkers came out Thursday evening for the annual Halloween parade held in Greenwich Village. Parade-goers wore some of the most elaborate costumes anywhere in the city as they marched along Sixth Avenue.

The parade almost didn't happen, but thanks to a Kickstarter campaign, organizers were able to raise more than $50,o00 to continue one of New York City's spookiest traditions.
