With the World Series secured in Boston, there was only one thing left to do: shave.

Boston Red Sox players David Ortiz and Shane Victorino had their now famous beards shaved Monday morning during a charity event at Gillette headquarters in South Boston.

The beards became part of the story of the Red Sox playoff run as nearly every member of the team grew their facial hair as much as they could.

The beards, some of which made the players unrecognizable at times, inspired T-shirts depicting silhouettes of the facial hair.

Joining the Red Sox players on Monday were Boston police officer Steve Horgan, the bullpen cop made famous for his arms-raised home run celebration. A contest-winning fan also joined the players on stage for a shave.

As part of the event, Gillette donated $100,000 to the One Fund Boston.
