A car caught fire in a Boston garage around 2 p.m., just hours after a fire destroyed a South Boston church.

The car was inside a parking garage on High Street, near the corner of Congress Street.

It created a smokey scene as pedestrians lined the block to snap photographs. Boston Fire trucks surrounded the garage, and firefighters worked to keep traffic at bay as they fed a fire hose from a nearby hydrant to the scene. There was no report of injury.
