Members of Boston Mayor-elect Marty Walsh's transition committee, a group that is focusing on economic development in Boston, will meet this evening to hear from residents about ways to improve the city.
Walsh will succeed outgoing Boston Mayor Thomas Menino on Jan. 6 after defeating City Councilor John Connolly in a November election by earning 52 percent of the vote.
He is currently the state representative from Dorchester and said he will resign his seat just after the new year.
Those expected to attend tonight include Walsh's economic development team leaders Donna Cupelo, the regional president of Verizon, and Pat Moscaritolo, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. at English High School in Jamaica Plain.
