An Allentown man was charged yesterday for allegedly impersonating a police officer and pulling over a woman last month for driving too slow, according to a report from The Morning Call.
Police said Luis Collazo-Figueroa, 24, became upset with a female motorist because she did not drive quickly enough out of a McDonald’s parking lot at 7 p.m. on July 28. He allegedly yelled at her and the two argued.
About two blocks away, he pulled out a blue emergency light and placed it on the top of his Ford Crown Victoria, which looks like an older model police vehicle, according to investigators.
The woman reportedly said Figueroa pretended to talk to someone on a walkie-talkie and told her, “I work for the police.” But when she told him she was dialing 911, he allegedly fled.
Police said they found Figueroa’s license plate on city surveillance cameras and arrested him last night. He was issued summonses for impersonating an officer and driving with a suspended license.
