Shenango Township Police today announced the arrest of a 53-year-old man who allegedly "Tebowed" after assaulting a 17-year-old that inadvertently cut him off on a riding lawn mower.

The incident happened on August 27. Police said that the 17-year-old man was using a riding lawn mower to cut the grass of his family home when he turned onto the road and, apparently, into the path of an oncoming car.

The driver of that car, identified as David Edward McCosby, 53, allegedly got out, knocked the teen off the mower and into the boy's front yard, straddled him and slapped him while screaming and yelling. According to the incident report, McCosby "then walked back
towards his vehicle, stopping and kneeling down as if in prayer (a
'Tebow')."

Police eventually tracked McCosby down from the last four digits of his license plate a witness jotted down before he sped away. The teen was then able to pick the suspect out of a photo lineup.

McCosby was arrested and charged today with misdemeanor simple assault. A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
