Police find driver involved in fatal hit-and-run in Charlestown

Boston police have located the driver of the truck they say was involved in the hit-and-run that killed a cyclist in Charlestown on Thursday.

 

"As a result of an active and ongoing investigation, detectives have been able to locate and identify the vehicle involved in the accident. Additionally, the operator has been located and identified as well," the Boston Police Department said in a statement.

 

The vehicle, described as a white sanitation truck, was located on Thursday evening in Revere. Additionally, the truck's driver was identified asRicky Prezioso, 41, of Swampscott. Hehas been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after causing death.

 

Several people told police they had seen a truck leaving the scene of the accident.

The victim, an adult man whose name has not yet been released, was hit on Spice Street in the Sullivan Square area on Thursday afternoon. He died at the scene.
