A 72-year-old man was found dead with a hanger around his neck in a Bronx nursing home Friday, police said.
Police said officers responded around 8 p.m. to a report of an assault inside the Bainbridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood.
When officers arrived, they found the man lying in his bed unconscious and unresponsive with a wire hanger around his neck, police said.
Emergency personnel declared the man, who has not yet been identified, dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner's Office said Sunday that the cause of death was still under investigation.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
On Thursday, police said a 71-year-old man was murdered during a dispute with his roommate at a Rockaways nursing home.
