Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a person of interest in connection with the rape of a woman in Central Parklast weekend.
Police want to talk to 32-year-old Omar Hoist about the attack, according to the NYPD.
The woman met the suspect about 3:30 a.m. Sunday near 88th Street and Fifth Avenue, police said. The pair walked together toward the park.
They later sat on a bench inside the park when Hoist suddenly turned violent. He dragged her to a grassy area and raped her, police said.
The suspect was last seen wearing a red hat, black leather jacket and blue jeans. He told the woman that his name is Omar, police said.
