Cops shot and killed a man wielding a knife yesterday in Times Square.
According to police, around 3 p.m., a police officer saw the man, 51, smoking what appeared to be marijuana around 44th Street and 7th Avenue.
When the officer questioned him, the man “became agitated,” police said, and when they tried to arrest him, he put the marijuana cigarette in his pocket and pulled out an 11-inch knife.

Then, he started holding it above his head and also put on a blue bandana.
He refused to put the knife away, cops said, and he started backing down Seventh Avenue.
They followed him, tried to subdue him with pepper spray six times and finally shot him, according to the NYPD account.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead.
