Police began pursuing the minivan as the suspect vehicle in the theft of thousands of dollars in power tools from Home Depot in Ridley Township.
A police pursuit that began in Delaware County ended at the South Philadelphia sports complex Thursday night, and the search for two of the four suspects continues.
Police in Tinicum Township began the chase Thursday night of a Dodge minivan suspected in the theft of thousands of dollars in power tools from the Home Depot store on MacDade Boulevard in Ridley Township, CBS Philly reports.
The car crashed into a taxi on the 3400 block of Broad Street, but continued toward the sports complex. The cab driver and two passengers were not injured, according to the report.
The pursuit, which occurred on I-95, Columbus Boulevard and around South Philadelphia, ended about 8:30 p.m. when the minivan struck a sign off Terminal Avenue, near the I-95 off ramp. Two suspects were taken into custody, but two others — a man and a woman — were able to elude police.
The Flyers were playing the Montreal Canadiens at the Wells Fargo Center at the time the pursuit passed near the sports complex.
