The gun fire erupted around 7 p.m. when six men wrapped in hoodies walked up to a large group standing outside Los Papi Deli & Grocery at the corner of 54th and Florence Streets and starting firing into the crowd.
In the haze of 50 bullets, Hatch suffered a fatal wound and died on the corner.
The other five men, which are all in stable condition, are spread out over several area hospitals.
"It's a disregard for human life," Police Capt. James Clark said.
