Boston Police are on the hunt for a silver Volvo involved in an attempted abduction after a 12-year-old girl says she was snatched off the street Thursday morning.

The girl told policeshe was walking to school at Dudley and Shirley streets when she waskidnapped at knifepoint by a male claiming to be "Kevin" or "Calvin." The man was driving a silver Volvo sedan with a large laundry basket in the backseat, according to surveillance videos.

The suspect is described as adark-skinned black male in his 20s, possibly with braided hair under his hat, thin build, wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans,with abluish black baseball cap, according to Boston Police.

The victim told police she was able to hop out of the car on Dudley Street and ran to Timilty Middle School. She managed to escape unharmed.
