Police are searching for a man they say stole a sack full of cash from an armored truck in the Bronx in July.

The suspect entered the unoccupied Rapid Armored Corporation truck shortly before 6 p.m. on July 30, as it sat idling near East Fordham and East Kingsbridge roads, police said. [videoembed id=217564]

Surveillance video released by police shows the man stuffing a bag full of cash from the truck and then running toward a silver vehicle waiting for him.

Police were also investigating an armored truck heist in Brooklyn last month. On Aug. 22, the suspect hijacked an armored truck from the same company and made off with $500,000.

Police have not linked the two incidents, but both are being investigated as possible inside jobs.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
