UPDATE: Police today released images from a street surveillance camera showing the vehicle they believe killed a 60-year-old-man and then fled the scene.
It was a red sedan with a black top, the right front hubcap missing, and will have damage to the front hood, and possibly the windshield.
Original Story: A 60-year-old man was struck and killed while attempting to cross Island Avenue at Lindbergh Boulevard in Eastwick on Monday evening, Philadelphia police said today.
The man, identified as Leslie Smith, lived on the 8100 block of Pontiac Avenue, not far from the scene of the accident. A vehicle was traveling south on Island Avenue when it hit Smith around 6:15 p.m.
The vehicle did not stop and continued south toward the airport. It's identified only as a dark colored sedan.
