Police are searching for a man they say tried to lure a 12-year-old girl into his SUV in the Astoria section of Queens earlier this week.
The victim was walking in the vicinity of 49th Street and Ditmars Boulevard at about 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday when the driver of a light-colored SUV pulled up alongside her and tried to lure her into the vehicle.
The victim refused and the suspect fled after the girl’s babysitter approached.
Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
