Police opened fire on two guard dogs, killing one of them, after the animals attacked a man in Southwest Philly this morning.
The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. at Cobbs Creek Parkway and Woodland Avenue.
The dogs, described in an NBC10 report as boxers, got loose from a used car and tow lot and attacked the victim, who was walking home from a corner store. Police attempted to get the dogs off the man with tasers, but that did not stop the attack, forcing the officers to shoot the dogs.

The victim was treated for bites to his head, arms and legs.
The surviving dog may have also been shot.
The owner of First Class Towing and Recovery expressed surprise to NBC10, saying his dogs had never attacked anyone.
