Police shot and killed a man who allegedly pulled out a gun during a brief pursuit in Southwest Philadelphia on Thursday night.
The incident occurred just before 9 p.m., NBC10 reports. The 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 9:23 p.m.
Police did not immediately say why officers were pursuing the suspect when the man allegedly pulled out a handgun.
It was the second deadly officer-involved shooting in Philadelphia in less than two weeks. On April 29, a police officer shot and killed a man who lunged at officers with a knife after threatening to cut his girlfriend's throat with the weapon in Feltonville.
