Police shoot pizza delivery truck thief in South Philadelphia

Police reportedly shot a man who allegedly stole a pizza delivery truck in South Philadelphia on Thursday.

 

The police-involved shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. at 22nd and Morris streets, in the Point Breeze neighborhood,NBC10 reports.

 

 

The suspect, who was shot in his forearm, allegedly stole the truck from a Domino's Pizza delivery driver at 10th and Catherine streets in Bella Vista, just after 9 p.m. A patrol officer spotted the vehicle about two miles from the original crime scene, and the pursuit began.

Police got the suspect to stop at 22nd and Morris, but the man allegedly attempted to ram several officers with the truck, drawing the gunfire.

The suspect was arrested at 22nd and Ellsworth streets, where he crashed the truck and attempted to flee. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.
