Possibly pregnant bank robber knocks over downtown Boston bank

Boston police are asking for the public’s help locating a woman who allegedly robbed a downtown bank this week and from the surveillance photos she may have had an involuntary accomplice.

Surveillance photographs released by police Tuesday show the woman sporting a baby bump. Police, however, did not include her being pregnant in their suspect description. It was not clear if the woman was actually pregnant or was using a clever disguise.

The woman walked into the Citizens Bank at 28 State St., just after 12:30 p.m. Monday and handed a teller a note.

The note said that the woman was in possession of a gun and wanted all of the money in the teller’s drawer, according to police. She then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police described the suspect as a white woman with black hair, about 5 feet 4 inches tall. She was wearing a cream-colored shirt and light blue pants.
