ISLIP TERRACE – A Sayville man tried to pose as a police officer during a traffic stop Friday in Islip Terrace. After he was pulled over while driving, Christopher Maier, 28, told police that he was Saltaire police officer and displayed a lieutenant’s badge. It was found to be a lie and Maier was charged with criminal impersonation, according to police.
