Philadelphia police are searching for a robber who snatched a woman's purse before shooting a 26-year-old woman in front of her mother in Northern Liberties on Sunday night.
The shooting victim died a short time later.
The robbery and fatal shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. on the 900 block of North Front Street, 6ABC Action News reports. The 26-year-old victim was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital about 11:15 p.m.
Police believe the suspect approached the two women, robbed them and shot the daughter in her chest. A cellphone and purse were stolen in the robbery, though it was not clear whether the items were stolen from the shooting victim or her mother.
The suspect reportedly was wearing all dark clothing. He jumped into a dark-colored or black Chevrolet Impala driven by a second man. The car was last seen going north on Front Street.
