Qatar Airways announced Monday morning on Twitter that it will begin flying to Philadelphia.
Philadelphia International Airport would become the airline's fifth destination in the U.S., joining New York JFK, Chicago O'Hare, Houston Bush Intercontinental and Washington D.C. Dulles.

The airline tweeted at 7:47 a.m.: "BREAKING NEWS: Qatar Airways to fly non-stop to #Philadelphia with twin-isle Boeing 777. To be its 5th #USA gateway!"
Qatar Airways' hub is inDoha, the capital of Qatar, which is set to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
