Queens Councilman Peter Vallone calls for boycott of ‘GCB’

Queens Councilman Peter Vallone is calling for a boycott of ABC’s new show “GCB,” saying the title of the show is “offensive to Christians everywhere.”

“GCB,” which stars Kristin Chenoweth, was named after the book entitled “Good Christian B*tches.” ABC says the show’s initials actually stand for “Good Christian Belles.”

“Charlie Sheen will be back on ‘Two and a Half Men’ before we see a similar title targeting another religion” said Vallone. “The title of the show alone is yet another outrageous attack on the Christian faith.”

Ads for the new show have blanketed the New York City subway system. Vallone, who has been a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic parish in Astoria, said he wants a title change as well as a public apology from the network.

First Nicki Minage raised the ire of the Catholic League when she showed up at the Grammy’s red carpet with a man dressed like the Pope and then acted as if she was possessed while performing on stage. “Never would they allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam,” said Catholic League President Bill Donohue. Now “GCB” is offending at least one Catholic in Queens. Does the city Councilman have a point?
