Former Republican Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown will run for the New Hampshire Senate, according to a report by WMUR.

In a Facebook post today, WGIR's "New Hampshire Today With Jack Heath" reports Brown "confirmed and announced on NH Today that he is running for the US Senate in NH and will be announcing next week."

Earlier this month, the former Wrentham resident said he was forming a committee to explore a potential Senate run in New Hampshire, where he has lived since December 2013.

If Brown were to win the Republican primary, he would face Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in the general election. WMUR reported Brown plans to make an announcement as early as next week.
