A controversial video of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney covertly shot at a private fundraiser was taken at the Florida home of financier, Wharton School grad and Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Marc Leder, according to a report from Mother Jones, which first disclosed the video yesterday.
In the video, Romney says:
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president
no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who
are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who
believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who
believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to
you – name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should
give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what . .
. These are people who pay no income tax.”
Jones reports that the fundraiser was held at Leder’s Boca Raton home at a price of $50,000 a plate. The post also points to an interesting article that ran in the New York Post last summer, claiming that Leder held wild weekly parties at a rented Bridgehampton mansion that may or may not have included sex acts – during one, a “chubby white meathead” reportedly stripped down and jumped into a pool with a female guest.
