The NYPD has reportedly been sending officers into local campuses to keep an eye on Muslim students.
According to the Associated Press, officers have been infiltrating student groups at schools like Brooklyn College and Baruch, sometimes gaining access by saying they need help with drug cases.
Undercover officers then attended meetings organized by Muslim student groups, the AP reported.
“Is there any aspect of Muslim life that the NYPD is not monitoring?” Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told Metro this morning.
Metro is reaching out to Muslim college students to get their reaction.
