A veteran NYPD officer reportedly tried to kill himself by clutching the third rail this morning, distraught at the thought of being called to testify against other cops.
Police officer Robert McGee, 62, had been called to testify at the trial of officers accused of fixing tickets.
The police department was going to take away his gun, the New York Post reported.
He jumped in the tracks early this morning at the Broadway and 238th Street subway station in Riverdale, according to the Post.
He was found with a burned hand.
An NYPD spokesman declined to comment.
