Photographs taken at Boston Common show a tractor trailer that crashed into the bustling park, though a fire official at the scene said there were no injuries.
The Boston Fire Department said on Twitter that the driver was uninjured and was talking with Boston Police.
"Companies on scene at Beacon and Walnut [Streets] for a tractor trailer through the fence at the Boston Common. No reported injuries [at the moment]," tweeted @Boston_Fireman.
Another onlooker tweeted along with a photo, "well you don't see a truck crashed into boston common every day. hope everyone is safe..."
Boston Fire Department spokesman Lieutenant Michael Walsh tells The Boston Globe that it appeared the brakes failed on the vehicle.
The tractor trailer was pulling an 40 foot long car hauling trailer that was empty at the time of the incident.
"It went in nose first and ended with the rear wheels up in the air," Walsh told the Globe.
Firefighters planned to pull the vehicle back onto Beacon Street so it could be towed away.
The crash remains under investigation.
