Rescue crews remove man from under Red Line train at Downtown Crossing

A person was rushed to a hospital after being pulled from under a Red Line train this afternoon at the Downtown Crossing MBTA stop and significant delays are expected.

The T’s control center received a call for a person under a train just after 1 p.m., according to a T spokesman.

Boston Fire Department crews arrived on scene shortly after the call and ordered that the power be shut down. The firefighters worked in the pit of the station to remove the person, who was being rushed to a hospital.

No information on the person’s condition was immediately available.

The T is warning of significant delays because of the incident.
