Residential fires do damage in South Jersey, North Philly

Firefighters in South Jersey and North Philadelphia worked early Thursday morning to contain two residential blazes -- one of which caused significant property damage.

A fire in Cherry Hill badly damaged a home on the 300 block of Victor Avenue, 6ABC Action News reports. The fast-moving fire broke out just before 3:30 a.m., and crews arrived to find flames shooting from the roof.

There were no reports of injuries in the South Jersey fire, according to the news report.

In the city, Philadelphia firefighters battled a fire in a high-rise apartment building on the 2400 block of North 11th Street, Action News reports.

The North Philadelphia fire broke out about 2:30 a.m., and caused the evacuation of several apartments.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control. No one was injured in the blaze at the Philadelphia Housing Authority property.

There is no word on the causes of the two fires.
